Phoenix

I love my MC. Kind of tying posts, when you open your heart to others, often they return the love. My sweet friend Meredith invited me to come stay with her over the weekend in Phoenix. Some opportunities you just don't pass up. I hopped on a plane and was enjoying the hot sun! The mountains were gorgeous. The lake was refreshing. I was so grateful for the tan! I had a blast. I was even able to see one of my best friends Tina and her husband Carl. I always laugh so hard when we get together. Don't you love friends like that. It was hard to come back to Houston where the weather has been cool and rainy.

Open Heart

One quality of mine that I cherish is my open and loving heart. Sometimes I get hurt, but most times it's so fulfilling. Life is great!

Crawfish!!!

I'm so happy to have had crawfish 2 weekends in a row!!! Thank you Corey & Jen, and Vance, Chris & Marcy!!! So good!! It's interesting to see people's reactions to the complete process of crawfish. Many just enjoy the finished product. "Yes, all the work for that little piece of meat." I love to see the newbies who jump right on in! Go Angeles, Sandra, Heather, n Chris! It's been a blast to experience your first experience of crawfish! You guys rock!

Sun dances aren't working

I thought I was doing well with keeping the rain away with my sun dances! But I was wrong! Damn rain! *Rain rain, go away*

Oh well. Whatcha gonna do? I'm making the best of it! The little sun that we've had I've enjoyed watching from inside the hospital! ;) Don't worry, no one is sick, I'm just working!!!

This weekend is jam packed with birthdays, friends, family and crawfish!!! Really, who could ask for anything more! **Who can ask for anything more!** ( what song/commercial did that come from??) Again with the constant songs in my head!

Ohohoh! I almost forgot! This past week I've been a salsa fiend! I've been practicing a bunch. So far so good. I'm getting it slowly but surely. My stylin is coming along, but I need more time and practice. Who wants to practice with me????? Come on!!!

Fun filled weekend

Sometime the open road is all you need to clear the mind, relax and let go. Well, not literally, you'll end up in a ditch. You know what I mean. Some people dont like to drive, but I love it. Even if I'm not driving I love it still the same. The bluebonnets are blooming as are many varieties of wild flowers. I got the urge to go find em! I researched a bit for the 'bluebonnet trails', but in the end, I just decided to wing it. Elias and I drove northwest towards Brenham and found a few patches off the highway. I know that there are more fields to frollick in, but on this occasion I wasn't driving so I thought I'd be more considerate to my driver.

We made a pit stop in Cypress to see a gorgeous hidden neighborhood. So beautiful and serene. We acted like a couple of kids playing on the jungle gym and slides. Hey what can I say! I'm a big kid! It was fun.

Kemah Fun

Finally on a sunny off day, Elias and I went to Kemah. I'm craving sunshine! They've really done the place up nicely after the hurricane. I'll have to scope out Galveston soon. Although it is NOTHING in comparison to the dirtiest part of the ocean in Italy, but oh well.

MRS Vicky Slinkman Van Buren

My sweet Vicky got married last weekend. Vicky and I met at Baylor and during nursing school we were suite mates. I love Vicky. She has so much energy and vivaciousness! She's an intelligent and easy going woman whom I adore. Peter or better yet Dr Van Buren is a sweetie pie to match. I'm so happy for them both and wish them absolute happiness in their marriage and life together.

The dance floor was kicking! Thanks to the Slinkmans and the new Van Buren family!

Karaoke

Ok, some of you know that I can hold a tune or two. Well up until this past Valentine's day, I was a karaoke virgin! Yes, I'd never done karaoke before. The Gem record player and microphone set doesn't count! My sweet friend Misty was gifted recently by her husband an awesome sound system/karaoke center. Valentine's day we spent singing and dancing! What a perfect way to spend the day! Right?!?! One of my best friends Margie and her adorable husband Tom were there as well. I brought along my new friend Elias who thought that us white folk weren't too bad. He busted out the salsa towards the end and we got everyone moving!!!
