March Madness

I think back to a year ago and I'm shocked at how fast time flies and heals. Amazing!

Well March has definitely kicked off with a bang! Julia, Anne and I had a great night out with new friends. We met some interesting new pals, some with orange hair which made us go 'O'. Then it was a night of dancing, shots, dancing and shots...it was quite the night!

The following evening we did it again but on a lighter note to send Anne off with a mini bang. Indeed we did!!! The Scotsmen Jaime and Mark definitely made us laugh. Especially after having to put up with a jerk-off. I can say that if I wanna take it easy and bloat myself with beer, I'll have a Blue Moon or equivalent of. My favorite comment was that we Americans talk so slow!! Now that's a first! Hehehe. Good times.

San Diego is such a gorgeous city! I'm not sure I wanna leave just yet. I laid out in the sun for a bit. It is finally showing its face! Woohoo! I cant wait til my next stretch so I can actually enjoy it.

Kent and I went boarding again. I'm starting to rock it!!! Well at a beginner intermediate level! Check it!!!

Amy does SoCal

Amy rocks!!! Thanks girl for chilling with me for a few days! Man, what a packed 4 days! We hit Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Old Town, Coronado Island, San Diego, Malibu, LA and Mt Baldy!!! It's crazy that we were walking on the beach one morning and then the next afternoon we were playing in snow!!! Love it!!! I had a blast! Next visit we will hit Magic Mountain coasters!!!

Houston Trip

Took advantage of a 4 days stretch off work and flew to Houston. It was a whirlwind trip. Thanks Erick for picking me up! Happy Birthday Eddie!!! I'm glad I was able to attend 2 of the 10?? bday parties that you had! ;) It was awesome seeing my salsa crew.

Thanks Tom, Margie and Amy for making time for me! I was running around like crazy!

My mom and grandparents were unsuccessful in kidnapping me like they planned. I'm too quick! ;) I loved seeing my brother, sis-n-law and niece and nephews! I miss those sweet kids! Well, they're sweet some of the time! :)

I'm sorry for the visits that I couldn't get in! Marcy, Chris, Seth, Kristy and Tyler! Congrats to Leo and Marna who got married!! Oh and my Dad too!! Congrats to Dad and Barbara who finally tied the knot after a couple decades!!!! Jeez guys! I'm glad that you are all doing well and are happy! Love you guys!!!

Its Already February

February!!!

Happy Birthday Mama! According to the groundhog and apparently El Nino, there will be 6 more weeks of winter. Ugh! And I moved!!!! Its so nice being close to the beach. It took a car and a half trip to get my things moved over. The girls didn’t like the fact that I kept them shut in their carriers for the car ride. I think Idra peed in her carrier which leaked on my seat. That hasn't been fun getting out! They are scoping the place out and finding their hiding places. Idra has figured out how to reach the top bunk of the bed and top of the wardrobe. Cicciona will soon follow I'm sure.

Did I tell you that I bought I beach cruiser bike?? Yep, I love Craig’s list!!! Bike rack and bike in 2 days. I’m ready to cruise the coast when it decides to stop raining. I love driving around here. So many hills and viewing points that you can see the water and city from above.

Oh and another thing…I’m on the Hot Tamale amateur performance team. Loving it!

Can you tell I'm in a rush to go play, but had to get in a blog. More to come!

Hiking with the Girls

Nikki, Olga and I tackled sushi with chopsticks and then hit the hills! Torrey Pines is my fav hiking locale. We always have fun!!

Old Town and the Zoo again

I finally made it back to the San Diego Zoo. I really love that place. Its gorgeous and so open. The animals are quite lucky to have such natural enclosures. I’m always mesmerized by the gorillas and elephants. My attention was taken by the forever pee of a rhino. Seriously, we watched it pee for at least 4 minutes!! I had to take a picture!

Then I visited Old Town, the birthplace of San Diego and good Mexican restaurants! : ) It was like walking around the wild west. The adobe buildings were well kept. I also visited the Whaley House which is stated to be the #1 haunted house in the US. It wasn’t so scary!!! I took a bunch of pics hoping that one may have been ‘altered’ but nope!!! I guess Yankee Jim was taking an ecto-nap. The lady guide stated that a year ago she saw a ghost dog. I guess not all dogs go to heaven.

My friend Jaime and I was also able to get a hike in up to Cowles Mountain! It’s a pretty good hike. The recent rain made parts of the trail a little tricky but all the rocks kept my focus. I was just trying to not twist an ankle. It felt really good! My thighs hated me the next day though.

Rain Rain Rain

Go figure that all my off days are going to be rainy!!! I won’t let that stop me!! I decided that I’d hit the Maritime museum and check out some ships!! I’m not a big boat/ship fan but these vessels were impressive. I thought more about what the sailors experienced being on them! The ferryboat was gorgeous and very classy. The Russian submarine was cool. I thought about the movie U-57 with Matthew McConnahey! He’s such a looker! Oh, yeah, boats! Then there was the Californian and the Pilot. The rain stopped in time for me to see the US Dolphin, a submarine with its small doors and little living quarters. I loved the Surprise. It was used in the filming of ‘Master and Commander’ with Russell Crowe. Pirate times!!! Aaarggh!!! Then I boarded the Star o India! Now that’s a ship. I need to go back to the harbor when it stops raining and get a pic when the sails are up.

Even with the rain I was able to get a quick visit in with Andrea before she heads to Malibu for her next assignment and with Tomas, who put on a very nice hat fashion show with a little dancing! He almost put Jamiroquai to shame, almost!!!
